Just to let the OP know, Mars is experiencing "global warming" at the same rate as Earth... Clearly it must be all those darn Martians and their SUV's doint it! CURSE THEM ALL!!!
This is going to be extremely difficult for many to accept, but it's time to inject some rationality. Forty thousand years ago was a pretty important time, it was the last ice age (ended about 10,000 years ago). Now, every 40-100 thousand years throughout the BILLIONS of years Earth has been spinning, it's been warming to FAR hotter than it is now, and cooling to temperatures that would make Siberia look like a tropical island.
In between ice ages, take a wild guess as to what the planet is going through??? If the planet isn't cold, what is the alternative??? it's Hot! and it gets HOTTER until it starts in on a cooling cycle... and how long does this typically take Timmy??? CENTURIES if not millennia to to come about from the peak of cold to the peak of hot.
More to the point, let's simply cut "An Incoherent Lack of Proof" off at the knees.
How much CO2 is in the atmosphere at this very moment? No one knows, the reason being is that even the "best estimates" are based entirely on the volume of the atmosphere, however the volume of the atmosphere is by its very nature NOT static.
How much CO2 is it to act as the fulcrum for global warming? Simple, it can't! The reason being is that in the very ice-cores being touted as the evidence of global warming, more than half of the highest concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere were ICE AGES, if CO2 is the culprit, it's doing a damn poor job of making it hotter if the world is in an ICE AGE at its peak concentration.
The greatest kick in the pants to global warming activists is to simply remind them that the planet itself CAN'T warm nor cool, it is a reaction to the amount of energy being exerted upon the planet that determines climate change, ice ages, and warming ages. And do you know what that singular force is? The Sun.
The Sun, and its particularly singular influence on the climate of Earth is billions of years old, but only in the last 15 years has anyone been so ridiculously arrogant as to think that "only man" could exert influence over the planet Earth. But of course this is Al Gore we're talking about, perhaps we should be thanking him for his inventive skills that we would be able to even gather here and debate this asinine fear-mongering about "global warming". ------------------------------------------------ UPDATED March 11 Formal request for improvements to industrialism |
